Lodge Activities
There are many activities at Makanyi to indulge in and keep you busy and entertained throughout your stay. Most of these are offered by us and your guide will be happy to organize them for you at your request. The ones marked by a star (*) are by prior arrangement, so please let us know if you are interested in any of them either at the time of booking or during your stay so we can organise them for you. Please note they are subject to availability and additional charges apply.
Game Drives
There are two thrilling game drives every day: one in the morning and one in the afternoon. This is your opportunity to meet and photograph the incredible animals in the heart of their natural habitat.
Bush Walks
Enjoy an educational walk in the bush with your guide and follow the animal tracks, discover hundreds of intriguing plants and bushes, and learn about the tiniest creatures. You might even sneak up to a rhino on foot, which is a thrilling experience!

Photographic Services
By arrangement, we can book a professional photographer to capture those special couple or family moments out on safari. Subject to availability and rates on request.
Photographic Safaris
By arrangement, we can book a professional wildlife photographer to spend the day with you and show you how to take the best pictures in the most amazing setting! Photographic equipment is also available for hire, if required. * Subject to availablity.
Spa
Melt into an indulging massage in our spa or in the comfort of your own room, surrounded by the tranquil sounds of nature.
Gym
Your daily workout is assured in our fully equipped gymnasium.
Star Gazing
Before returning to the lodge for dinner your guide will share and point out the beautiful constellations of the Southern Hemisphere and the unspoilt view of the Milky Way with the odd satellite passing by.
