Guests have the opportunity to book various services with Anja, our Guest Photographic Specialist.
Born in Germany but raised in Greytown, a small town in KwaZulu-Natal, Anja has spent much of her childhood visiting game reserves in the area and trips to the Kruger National Park were a regular occurrence.
Whilst living in England, every trip home to South Africa had to include a visit to the bush. It was during her years in London that her passion for photography grew. She studied photography at the London Academy of Media, Film and TV and spent each school holiday traveling to a new destination with her camera in her backpack. Travel photography grew into family photography and eventually into wedding photography. But nothing compared to her South African holidays in the bush as this allowed her to combine her passion for photography and the wild. Needless to say, she has been a keen wildlife photographer for well over a decade.
In 2009 she moved to Umhlanga, South Africa, where for the last 10 years she has built a name for herself as a wedding and portrait photographer. Here at Makanyi, guests can book Anja to do photo shoots, document their holiday, capture special events (weddings, proposals etc) and edit their safari photos. They can even book a session with her in the photographic studio to turn their game drive photos into beautiful canvases.

“Capture my Safari” Package
Have a photographer accompany you on every morning and afternoon game drive so that all your special safari moments are captured.
Package includes:
- Photos of animals seen on morning and afternoon game drives
- Candid moments on drives and during drinks stops
- Sunset photo shoot on one of the afternoon game drives (portrait / group photographs)
- High resolution, professionally edited images
- Images downloadable from an online gallery
- Print rights to your images
- 1 x A3 print to take home (rolled up in cardboard tube)

Half Day “Capture my Safari” Package
Have a photographer accompany you on one of your game drives so that some of your special safari moments are captured (either morning game drive or afternoon game drive).
Package includes:
- Photos of animals seen on one game drive
- Candid moments on drive and during drinks stop
- A short photo shoot during drinks stop (portrait / group photographs)
- High resolution, professionally edited images
- Images downloadable from an online gallery
- Print rights to your images
- 1 x A4 print to take home (rolled up in cardboard tube)

“Capture my Sightings” Package
Have a photographer accompany you on a game drive, so that all the sightings on that drive are captured professionally. This package is ideal for those who don’t have the right tools to photograph the sightings but still wish to take home beautiful photos of the Timbavati wildlife.

- High resolution, professionally edited images of the animals
- Images downloadable from an online gallery

Mini Shoot
Photographs have the power to take you back to an exact moment in time. Why not book a 30-minute photoshoot so that you can relive your Makanyi safari holiday for years to come.
